This month, we’ve been looking at how our faith is about #morethanus. We’ve talked about our call to see and serve the poor, to hear the voices of women and change systems and practices of injustice. We looked at Jesus’ invitation and welcome of children and the ways he reminds us that the kingdom of God becomes manifest when we gather together and seek after him. And today, we are focusing on the biblical call to love and care for the stranger. Mark 10:1, 13-16 People were bringing their kids to Jesus. Not just one or two people. Not just women. People. Lots of people. Men and women were bringing their kids to be blessed.
Now, at this point in the Gospel of Mark, Jesus is pretty far along in his ministry. He’s called the disciples. He’s healed the demoniac. Sunday morning parking at the church is available in the high school parking lot on Third Street across from the church and in the city lots west of the church. These lots are available only on Sunday mornings. A small lot for handicapped parking is available just off of Adams Street on the north side of the church, with an accessible entrance directly into the sanctuary. A lift operates between the Fellowship Hall (3rd Street level) and the Sanctuary. William Sound System Receivers and Headsets are available to assist with hearing problems.
